Ready for Spring

Last week was a busy week, by the end of the day I was too tired to do any sewing that required me to think, so  I got this old quilt down off my "waiting for binding " pile and got to work. It only took 3 nights, makes you wonder doesn't it why I didn't do it earlier. This poor quilt has been sitting  for 2 years just waiting to be finished.
I actually found it quite relaxing and very cosy on these chilly evenings.
Now its all done and I love it all over again.
Yesterday when I was doing my housework I decided to bring a bit of Spring into the house. I put all my winter quilts away and bought out my Fig tree favorites.
The room looks so much lighter now and very pretty.
Even the hallway has a new lease of life. I love this quilt, its called Sunshine Frolics by Nat Bird.

I hope you have had a good week and a restful weekend.

I am going to do some sewing this afternoon, I have another quilt just about ready for borders. Can't wait to show you.

Happy sewing. xx

Fig tree favourites

Do you have a favourite fabric designer?  I have more than one but my favourite right now is Fig Tree quilts. I love all their fabrics and I love how each  range goes with another. I am excited to show you my new floor cushions that I designed, yes all in fig tree fabrics. These were published in Patchwork & stitching magazine  Vol 16 No 10.

I even made the cover so that is  even more special.
 They always do lovely photography.
I am also making a few little stars for another project.
Here is my newest finish. I actually started hand quilting this quilt but I didn't like it so I spent 2 nights unpicking it all, now its going to Sarah for her to work her magic on the long arm.

I bought this wooden wagon ages ago and had it outside ready to put some plants but I  thought it would look good inside  so I filled it up with some table runners. Doesn't it look sweet?

So thats what I have been up to lately. I hope you are having a lovely weekend.

Some new fabrics

Yesterday I went for a little drive  to my favourite patchwork shop to collect a few goodies I had on order.  Sarah got me this beautiful bundle of fabric called Bloom & Bliss. Isn't it just the prettiest fabric. it reminds me of Spring so I have decided to make something very springy.
I love all the little floral prints. Especially the pink ones.
I also got a bundle of the new Holly Tree Farm by Sweetwater. I do love their fabrics alot. I want to make a christmas quilt from these beautiful prints.
Today I cut into my new collection of Tilda prints, I can't quite share this design with you yet but you are bound to love it.
Sarah quilted my new dresden project, isn't it amazing. I am teaching this quilt at Sarah's shop in October.I loved making this. Now to get the binding on and sent back to the shop as a sample.

I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Day at the Park

I love taking photos, especially of my quilts. So this morning I headed off to the park nice and early to get a few nice shots of my latest finishes. It was a cold and cloudy morning but perfect for taking photos.
I just finished binding this baby on Friday evening. I love it and its now my favourite quilt, I think I say with each new quilt I finish. I used all my favourite fabrics and added some black, Black fabric is something I rarely sew with. But I love how it pops in this quilt. Its modern and scrappy at the same time.
I know you have seen these quilts before but I wanted to share them again. I do love this design by Bonnie of Cotton way. Its the perfect pattern for boys as is the fabric which is Feed Company by Sweetwater.

There were even ducks chasing me around, I think they thought i had some food.

And pretty daffodils, Spring is not far away now.
This old tree had fallen over so it was the perfect backdrop for my beachy themed table runner.

This pillow is one of my designs I had published a little while ago, I'm about to make it into a pattern so people can buy it. I do love stitchery.

Its still a dull overcast day here so I plan on sewing a bit more this afternoon, I hope you all have a wonderful day.
Thanks for stopping by.

Rainy days

I have had quite a productive this week, husband has been on night shift all week so I didn't get much of chance to play in my sewing room, however I did make  the most of time and sewed the binding on 2 quilts. Yes you read right..... 2 quilts. I'm not a lover of binding and if truth be told I still have at least 4 quilts waiting for their binding.
I was so happy to get this quilt finished. Its for Daniel our eldest son and I thought if I don't get it finished soon winter will over and he won't need it until next year.
I do love this quilt, Fabrics are called  Feed Company by Sweetwater and Pattern is called Cozy by Cotton way.
I also got the binding sewn down on my Tone it down quilt.
I only got to 9 blocks and decided that was enough so its a lovely size for a  lap quilt.
Scrappy borders are great for using left over layer cake squares and fat quarters.
Yesterday I started on a new project, this is for a gift and when its finished I'll share a photo. I do love little dredsen plates, they are just so darn cute.
I bought myself a little china bowl, I thought it would be perfect for my pins. Now I just need to find some good magnets and I can glue them to the bottom.

Its such a gloomy, rainy day today so I'm staying in my sewing room all day. I have so much to sew.

Have a wonderful day and I hope you find some sewing time.
