Hanging quilts

I decided I wanted to hang this quilt of mine in the hallway, after alot of discussion with my husband about how to actually attach it to the wall we came to a compromise and here it is. We ended up putting in 2 cup hooks and placing the rod in each end. I'm still not happy with it so I'm trying to talk Paul into making me a shelf so I can hang the quilt from the bottom of it, How do you hang your quilts???? any ideas would be great.

A beautuful gift

Here is the lovely table runner I recieved for our Friends in Stitching swap, mine was made by Suzie Q and she chose my autumn colours perfectly, isn't it beautiful.

I've been bitten by the bug.....

The Dear Jane bug that is.... yes I have joined the many women in the world in making this quilt, so far I have made 1o blocks, every month at the patchwork shop where I work called Esme's we are going to have a Dear Jane class, hopefully we make at least one block before the class finishes. It should be good fun,

Happy Mothers Day

Its a very special mothers day for me, my beautiful boys and husband gave me the ultimate gift... my very own laptop. Whoo hoo. No more kicking the boys off the computer so I can get on. Its very exciting to say the least. jacob made me a beautiful card and wrote on it, thankyou for caring for me and Nicky made me a paper flower, it says inside thankyou for buying me treats. I thought that was gorgeous. They always seem to get treats. I hope all mums are having a wonderful day with their families.

More of Campania

This is what I worked on on Saturday, the theme for the day was cupcakes, I'm not sure what I'll make my square of stitching into, maybe a pot holder or something for the kitchen.
This is one of Helen Stubbings new designs, I love it and plan to buy the pattern when its released very soon.

This is another favourite of mine, I have started to make this quilt in very different colours from the original, as I progress I'll show you some photos.

This quilt is in Helen's new book, its stunning to see it close up. The colouring technique is so effective.

A day of sewing with friends

Yesterday at 7.30 am Marina and I headed off to Campania for a day of fun and sewing with the quilted crow girls Leonie and Deidre. It was their Autumn gathering and the 2 designers for the day were the delightful Helen Stubbings and Natalie Ross, both Ladies have some beautiful projects. These were my purchases for the day, I just loved the reproduction cowboy fabric, I have big plans for that little bundle.

This is one of Helen's new designs, its just gorgeous.

Lots of ladies busy sewing. I'll show you what I started tomorrow. It was such a good day and I can't wait for the next one in October.
